ACT TALK 2026 Series 01: NATURE AS A TESTER – FIRE AND WATER
Organised by the Architect Council of Thailand
Mr. Yossapon Boonsom, Founding Director, participated as a speaker at “ACT TALK 2026 Series 01: NATURE AS A TESTER – FIRE AND WATER,” organised by the Architect Council of Thailand. The session brought together professionals to address emerging risks posed by natural and human-induced disasters in urban environments.
During the talk, Yossapon presented key concerns surrounding water-related disasters, drawing from real-world case studies and his experience in landscape architecture. His presentation highlighted the increasing complexity of flood risks, including flash floods, urban water overflow, and climate-related uncertainties affecting cities today.
He also shared design strategies for urban environments aimed at enhancing flood resilience, emphasising the role of landscape and public space in managing water, mitigating risks, and supporting long-term adaptability. His approach underscored the integration of ecological systems into urban design as a critical component in building more responsive and resilient cities.
His insights underscored the urgent need to rethink how cities are planned and designed in response to water-related risks, moving beyond mitigation to enable cities to adapt and respond more effectively to future uncertainties.
