Mr. Namchai Saensupa, Founding Director of Shma Company Limited, had the honour of being one of the distinguished speakers at the International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia-Pacific Region (IFLA APR) International Congress 2025. The Congress was hosted by the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA) under the theme ‘Growth Paradox: Reimagining Landscapes’ for this year, and was held from November 14–15, 2025, at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India.
Mr. Namchai shared his perspective on the complex challenges faced by landscape practitioners operating within diverse geographical contexts under the broader subtheme: ‘Need for Relooking at the Development Paradigm; Diverse Ecosystems, Contexts, and Tensions.’ His lecture emphasized the importance of designing landscapes that are not only visually inspiring but also socially inclusive and environmentally resilient, reflecting Shma’s commitment to sustainable urban and natural environments.
The Congress gathered landscape architects, planners, academics, and industry experts from across the Asia-Pacific region, providing a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and cross-cultural collaboration. Through discussions and workshops, participants explored innovative approaches to tackling urbanization pressures, biodiversity loss, and climate change while preserving cultural and ecological values.
