Speaker for NCLA 2025
K. Prapan Napawongdee was honored to be one of the guest speakers at The 8th National Conference on Landscape Architecture 2025
K. Prapan Napawongdee, Founding Director of Shma, was honored to be one of the guest speakers at The 8th National Conference on Landscape Architecture 2025, organized by the Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Architecture at Kasetsart University, in collaboration with the Thai Association of Landscape Architects and academic institutions offering landscape architecture programs across Thailand.
K. Prapan joined a thought-provoking discussion under the theme “Well-being in Everyday Landscapes: Where Design Meets Daily Living.” He shared insights on the growing challenges urban environments face—including climate change, air pollution, fine dust, lack of accessible wellness spaces, and the increasing demands of an aging society. From the perspective of a landscape architect, he emphasized that designing green spaces could serve as a sustainable solution to promote both physical and mental well-being in our cities and everyday lives.

At Shma, we integrate global challenges and tailor them to local contexts to address site-specific challenges. We create spaces that seamlessly become a part of people’s daily routines, while contributing meaningfully to the sustainable future of our planet. During the session, K. Prapan highlighted several of Shma’s key projects—including Mapletree Business City II, AIA East Gateway, Jin Wellbeing County, and Teak Park—demonstrating how design can be context-sensitive and future-ready.

He was joined in conversation by two other distinguished speakers: Ph.D. Assistant Professor Tanasi Samphantharak Petyim and K. Sirivit Riubamrung, with Asst. Prof. Panitat Ratanawichit is serving as moderator. We’re grateful to have taken part in this important dialogue alongside others who are collectively shaping the future of landscape architecture in Thailand.
