Mr. Yossapon Boonsom, Founding Director of Shma, was honored to be a panelist at the Monsoon Architecture Festival (MAF) 2025 in India by the Indian Institution of Architects (IIA), MAF is the region’s largest biannual gathering of architectural professionals. The festival served as a global forum for knowledge exchange among monsoon-affected regions, including South America, Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. With participants ranging from government authorities and academics to practitioners and industry leaders, the event reflected a shared commitment to climate resilience and improving the quality of life for all

Shma share our vision to create a better earth. Enable positive change for social and environment. We create place of life to enable in various expects in terms of urban, nature and people. Our goal in landscape design would frame “the better environment” and “better world.”
During the panel, we addressed pressing urban challenges—from concrete overdevelopment and air pollution to food insecurity, climate change, aging populations, and the growing mental health crisis. In response, we shared our approach rooted in the Power of Place—leveraging public space to empower communities and drive systemic transformation.

Participating in this event allowed us to witness a significant global shift in urban thinking—one that is grounded in resilience, inclusivity, and collaboration. We saw cities increasingly implementing Blue-Green Infrastructure, embracing people-centric and nature-based solutions that not only preserve the environment but also enhance the quality of life for their citizens. What was most inspiring was the rise of collaborative models that unite public, private, and civic sectors to co-create adaptive and inclusive futures, ensuring long-term sustainability and positive impact for all.
We are eager to see how the ideas exchanged and relationships built at MAF 2025 will evolve into meaningful collaborations. As conversations turn into commitments and insights translate into action, we look forward to contributing to a future where design serves as a force for resilience, inclusivity, and lasting impact.
