In his session, Mr. Kirin spoke on the topic of “Co-Creation: Engaging Local Stakeholders”, highlighting the importance of participatory processes that bring together diverse voices. He emphasized that co-creation is not just about collaboration — it’s about fostering interaction among stakeholders, creating platforms for dialogue, involving people in decision-making, and encouraging a true sense of ownership. Through testing, exchange, and iteration, co-creation can spark new ideas, shape neighborhoods, and inspire collective imagination. At the very least, the process raises awareness and opens up new conversations about the city. It allows people to recognize both hidden problems and overlooked potential in their communities.
Mr. Kirin also shared experiences from co-creation projects across various neighborhoods in Bangkok and other provinces. These efforts have led to more grounded and sustainable development outcomes, often revealing unexpected insights that would not have emerged without genuine participation. Co-creation, he noted, is a path to discovering new possibilities and creating spaces that truly belong to the people.
