Mr. Yossapon Boonsom was invited as one of the speakers in the session South of the South: ASEAN Perspectives on Community Making.
26th October 2025, Mr. Yossapon Boonsom, Founding Director of Shma Company Limited, was invited as one of the speakers in the session South of the South: ASEAN Perspectives on Community Making, at the CCC Chengdu Community Conference (CCC 成都社群大会)
The session aimed to explore how landscape, community design, and participatory planning are shaping cities across ASEAN. Other speakers included Ar. Mei Chee Seong (Founder, COEX–Hin Bus Depot), Dr. Chua Yee Ling (CEO, Tourism Selangor & Founder, Village Vision), and Kok Keong Tew (Founder, Muar River Times & Draf. Media), with Hu Yanzi (Artist & Community Curator) as moderator. The conference took place from 24–26 October 2025 at Luke Island, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
In the session, Mr. Yossapon shared Shma’s mission to create places that connect people and nature through an All Being Centric approach. He emphasized that people form place, and place forms life, reflecting Shma’s belief that design is not only about creating spaces but also about shaping environments that support meaningful living.
This approach combines Nature-based Solutions, Customization, Integral Environment, Impact Orientation, and Technology Enhancement to improve urban quality of life. Mr. Yossapon also introduced we!park, a platform that promotes the development of public green spaces as part of city infrastructure to enhance community well-being.
We are truly pleased to have had the opportunity to share experiences and exchange ideas with inspiring practitioners and communities from across the region, contributing to a broader conversation on how design can shape better cities for all.
